Unity humbucker
The Unity humbucker set is a partnership: a powerful custom ceramic bridge with a throaty, hot Alnico neck combining to produce a muscular high gain tone for rock and metal.
The bridge pickup produces a defined cut in the highs without compromising mid range weight or projection, and bass response is firm with plenty of depth. There’s masses of power on tap from the custom ceramic magnet, and the balanced coils produce excellent split coil tone too.
Neck tones, care of the Isotropic Alnico V, are fat and chewy but still retain enough dynamic headroom to be really expressive under heavy gain. Again, there’s a lot of output on offer and both split coil and parallel tones offer up some superb clean tones.
The original concept behind Unity and the initial limited edition run of Unity 2022 humbucker sets, hand-wound and numbered by Tim Mills, raised over £10K for humanitarian aid. A subsequent limited edition run of Unity T-shirts raised a further £3K.
Unity pickups will now continue their work ad infinitum, with profits from the sales of these standard Unity humbuckers also going to the Disasters Emergency Committee responding to disasters worldwide, helping to save, protect and rebuild lives through effective humanitarian response.
